The End of Sharpton?

While reading this short item in the New York Post it occurred to me that yet another reason to be enthused by the emergence of the Obama candidacy is the potential it has to eradicate, once and for all, the Al Sharpton scourge from American politics. While Sharpton is dependably hilarious (and surely one of the quickest wits around) he is a charlatan. Mark Bowden, the intrepid Atlantic correspondent, captured the Sharpton phenomenon with great incisiveness and humor in a 2004 piece for the magazine.
